Brad Lane is a long-time educator and coach in Delaware, best known for his more than 30 years of service as a health and physical education teacher and a coach at William Penn High School. Throughout his career, he coached both wrestling and track and field, specializing in shot put and discus, and produced numerous top-performing athletes. One of his most notable achievements came during the 1996 state championship, where his throwers earned 46 points in the men’s events and 40 in the women’s, consistently contributing 15–20 points per meet. His impact on student-athletes and the school community was widely recognized, culminating in his induction into the Delaware Track & Field Hall of Fame in 2024. Lane is celebrated for his excellence, dedication, and ability to elevate those around him, leaving a lasting legacy in Delaware athletics.
