Jack Freebery

Jack Freebery is a Delaware native with family roots deep in the historic soils of Old New Castle. Generations of Freeberys’ graduated from William Penn High School (WPHS) including Jack’s father.

In 1991 Freebery began his career with the Colonial School District as a Supervisor of all elementary, middle, high school and special school principals. In 1994, he was promoted to the position of Assistant Superintendent and became Deputy Superintendent in 2000, where he served in that position until he retired in 2006.

During his tenure with Colonial, Freebery collaborated on a number of initiatives, all of which remain in place today.

Freebery was widely viewed as an outstanding leader and he continues to support the Colonial Educational Foundation by sending a financial contribution annually.
