Carol A. Timmons is a product of the Colonial School District.She, along with her 3 brothers, Ken, Jeff and Philip and her sister Susan, all attended Carrie Downie Elementary School, New Castle Middle School andWilliam Penn High School (WPHS).Carol graduated in 1976, with the siblings graduating in 1977, 1980, 1983 and 1984.During her time at William Penn, she was a member of the Leader Corps and the softball team.She also spent time with the Band and the Chess Club.After William Penn, Carol attended Delaware Technical and Community College graduating with an Associate in Criminal Justice in March 1979.Carol graduated from Wilmington College in 1984 with a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management.She also completed her Master’s in Public Administration from Wilmington University in 2013.

Less than one year after graduating from William Penn High School, Carol joined the Delaware Air National Guard in 1977.Joining the Delaware Air National Guard as an Airman Basic has led to her current position as the Commander of the Delaware Air National Guard, at the rank of Brigadier General.During her military service she also was a helicopter pilot for the Delaware Army National Guard and a C-141 pilot for the US Air Force Reserve.

During her 39 plus years of military service she deployed multiple times.General Timmons is a veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Southern Watch, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Inherent Resolve.General Timmons commanded twice during combat operations as the 774th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron Commander (2003) and the 445th Expeditionary Operations Group Deputy Commander (2008).In 2015 she deployed as the Air Force Central Command Director of Mobility Forces responsible for all mobility aircraft in the Iraq and Afghanistan operations.General Timmons has over 5,200 military flight hours of which 400 are combat flight hours and has been awarded the Bronze Star, 5 Air Medals and 3 Aerial Achievement Medals.
